Jonathan Wiesel, Principal

Jonathan was a founder and operator of California’s Royal Gorge Cross Country Ski Resort, the largest privately run Nordic area in the world. He learned the hospitality and outdoor recreation business from the ground up, including guest relations and marketing.

Since creating Nordic Group International in 1981, he has been involved with more than 160 trails-related projects – cross-country ski areas, real estate developments, guest ranches, and downhill resorts – across North America.

Jonathan is a Founder and Director Emeritus of Cross Country Ski Areas Association. He’s also a cross-country ski and snowshoe instructor/guide and a travel consultant.

He’s the author of Cross-Country Ski Vacations and Cross-Country Ski Areas Operations Survey as well as the co-author of Cross Country Close to Home: A Ski Area Development Manual.
